Drinks to avoid for a better health

4

When we talk about healthy food, we have the tendency to ignore the drinks. In fact, unhealthy drinks are all around us and we are probably not cautious enough about them. This post will help you choose the right drink for you. The next time a drink is being passed around, think twice before picking up a glass.

Fruit juices

The fact that fruit is healthy for us has fooled us into believing that fruit juices are also healthy. When fruits are crushed to make juice, all the protein and fibre content is thrown away. Basically we are only consuming part of the fruit. Then there’s also the amount of fruits used to make one glass of juice. This is often an amount we would never sit down and eat. In brief, we are only consuming the sugary part of the fruit. Since it’s in liquid form, we are consuming calories, but not feeling satiated.

Energy drinks

Of course, they provide us with a much needed uplift during a hectic day, but these drinks are loaded with caffeine and sugar. Some drinks have a lot of caffeine in them. This may cause some individuals to have high blood pressure and troubled sleep. Another ingredient that is often abused is sugar. Sugar is known to give you almost instant energy and some energy drink companies tend to abuse that. Sugar is cheap to add and it gives a pleasant taste, but it has very bad side effects as we all know.
